Medicinal Properties
Lobelia is primarily used to treat respiratory problems. Lobelia can be used to induce vomiting. Lobelia
can be used to treat bronchitis and asthma. Because it is antispasmodic, it relaxes the muscles in the chest.
Lobelia is also an expectorant that makes coughs more productive. A tincture may be applied to the body
externally to help relax sore, tired muscles. Lobelia may be used as a substitute for tobacco for persons
who are attempting to quit smoking.
